Conference

Discussion at IJ7 in 2010
The IJ-conference has been hosted yearly 2004-2011 by the Stanford Center for Innovation and Communication, bringing together people from academia, the media and industry for a three day conference at Stanford University. The center closed in 2011, after faculty director Prof Stig Hagström passed away.

The Innovation Journalism initiative, including future IJ conferences will be managed by IIIJ Innovation and Communication, a 501c3 non-profit organization, created in 2007 in order to host the off-campus activities of the Stanford Innovation Jounalism initiative.

The academic track has been a regular part of the IJ-conference, and many of the articles in Innovation Journalism have been presented at one of these conferences before they are published. At the IJ8 Academic Track in 2011 papers were selected through international double blind peer review of full papers. The acceptance rate was 73 percent.
